I'm a Certified Child Sleep Consultant and Board Certified Behaviour Analyst. What that means for you is that I use a developmental approach in supporting your child’s sleep. Evidence-based strategies guide me in supporting you and your child. I learn what your child’s sleep needs are and create a plan with coaching based on your goals.
I help you to feel confident knowing how to best support them so there are fewer tears by everyone.
See I was an overwhelmed first-time mama once with my son's sleep. Griffin was a very sensitive and attached sleeper, he wanted me and me only for everything - we battled with short naps, false starts, and 1.5 hours of nightly wake-ups. I was utterly exhausted emotionally, physically and mentally. I was lost with how to best support him and began to co-sleep with him.
I quickly learned that what I was doing was not sustainable, while he began to sleep better with co-sleeping, I did not. I then took a course to become certified in baby and toddler sleep and started to use my newfound knowledge with Griffin, and it worked!
I began my journey to support other mamas feeling exhausted, alone and lost. I want to reach as many mamas as possible to show them that sleep is possible and that everyone in the family needs sleep.
Change is hard and if you are going to change your approach to how you support your baby they will communicate to you that they notice these changes - how do they communicate? Sometimes through crying.
Research has demonstrated that short amounts of crying is not harmful to your baby, and will not affect your bond. Here at Sleep Easy we do not utilize the cry it out method, however, we cannot guarantee your baby will not cry with other approaches.
As a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, I use evidence-based strategies and methods. I provide information to you on options that you have to help you make an informed decision on what method to move forward with. I approach sleep from a function and developmental approach meaning I determine why your baby is struggling with their sleep and use developmentally appropriate strategies, timings, and support to help them. Through my over 12 years of experience in working with families, I understand the importance ocommunication and collboration. We will work together to support yourbaby's sleep.
Every baby is different and there sleep needs are unique to them. With consistency to the plan and strategies you can start seeing small gains shortly after beginning. With babies, you may see results in as little as 1-week depending on their sleep struggle(s).
It begins with you completing an intake form that help me better understand what is happening & having you collect some sleep data to give me a better understanding how often the sleep struggle is occurring. Next I take this information and begin creating a plan for you using evidence-based strategies and sleep training method options. We will meet to review the intake to ensure I have an accurate understanding and then review the plan in detail. I will answer any questions that you have, teach you how to implement the plan, & move forward based on what you're comfortable with
